In short: Subway's U.S. loyalty program is now Sub Club, launched December 2025: 10 points per $1, 400 points = $2 Subway Cash, 250 points for joining and every fourth footlong free. How it differs from the Pro, Captain and All-Star tiers of MVP Rewards, what doesn't earn, and when points expire.
Subway's U.S. loyalty program is Sub Club, which launched in December 2025 and has replaced MVP Rewards on subway.com. Members earn 10 points per $1 on eligible purchases, and 400 points converts to $2 in Subway Cash to spend on a later order; new members get 250 bonus points for joining. The headline perk is that every fourth footlong is free, with the free footlong landing in your account within 24 hours. Points expire after six months with no activity on the account. Gift cards, alcohol, tax, tips, fees, catering and third-party delivery orders earn nothing. The Pro, Captain and All-Star tiers belonged to MVP Rewards (2023 to 2025); Subway's current U.S. page and terms do not list tiers.
Sub Club is simpler than MVP Rewards: one earning rate, one conversion (400 points to $2) and a free footlong every fourth one, with no spend tiers published. The things that trip people up are the same as under MVP: only orders placed through Subway's own app, site or counter with your account identified count, and six quiet months wipe the balance. Subway's U.S. terms page carries a November 3, 2026 effective date, so re-check it after that date. For today's verified Subway offers and app promo codes, see the Subway page.

Not in the United States. Subway's U.S. rewards page now says "Join Sub Club", its U.S. terms are titled Sub Club Terms of Use, and Subway's January 2026 newsroom release says Sub Club launched in December 2025. MVP Rewards, with its Pro, Captain and All-Star tiers, launched in September 2023 and is still the program name on Subway's Canadian site. Subway has not published a page explaining how existing MVP members or their status moved over, so if you held Captain or All-Star status, check your account in the app.
$2 in Subway Cash. At 10 points per $1, 400 points is about $40 of pre-tax spending, so Sub Club returns roughly 5% of what you spend. Points convert to Subway Cash only when you redeem them, in $2 steps, and a single order can use at most $50 of Subway Cash.
Subway's wording is that every fourth footlong is free for Sub Club members. After the qualifying footlong purchase, a Free Footlong coupon appears in your account within 24 hours; each coupon has its own expiration date printed on it. Subway's restaurant pages say there is no limit to how many free footlongs you can earn. Footlongs bought through DoorDash, Uber Eats or other third-party apps, catering orders and gift card purchases do not count.
Yes, after six months with no activity on your Sub Club account. Any activity in that window, earning or redeeming, resets the six months for your whole balance. Closing the account forfeits all points, Subway Cash and rewards.
Subway's U.S. Sub Club page and terms, as indexed when DailyBite checked, do not describe a birthday reward. Under MVP Rewards, Subway said birthday rewards varied by tier (a free six-inch, cookie or drink). Subway's FAQ notes that your birthday month and day must be in your profile for any birthday reward to be issued, so add it; DailyBite will update this page if Subway publishes Sub Club birthday terms.
Yes, if you identify yourself before you pay: give your phone number, scan the QR code in the Subway app, or swipe a registered card. Subway's terms say to do this even on orders where you are not redeeming anything, or the purchase will not earn.
